Aerotek is seeking a Jr. Estimator with 3-four years min in estimating background. Below is a job overview for the current opening with a reputable solar company currently located in San Francisco Financial District. Duties & Responsibilities- Knowledge of NEC and UBC guidelines and regulations preferred but not required- Electrical Estimator with a min 3-four years of commercial or industrial field background with electrical installation and applications preferred- Thorough understanding of Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical constraints- Expertise to prioritize tasks and juggle competing deadlines effectively, remaining calm under pressure- Create, maintain and upgrade the estimating system and database (units and prices)Background & Requirements- Support the procurement team with Preparation of EPC scope documentation as needed- Highly driven and hard working with high standards for themselves and others- Solar background wanted- Excellent customer relation skills, including professional appearance and demeanor- Good knowledge of the estimating process- Effective people skills with the expertise to work in a team environment and to follow directions- Assist in preparing bid packages, quantity take-offs, conceptual estimates and analysis of EPC bids- Set up estimating files for projects- Familiar with construction materials, methods and scheduling- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft word, Microsoft excel, Project and Outlook- Perform collateral duties as assigned- Specific Knowledge of high voltage transmission and substation design/cost preferred- On more complex and comprehensive projects, assist with developing and validating project cost estimates, project estimate reviews, and revisions to reflect contract scope changes and extra work orders- Skillful at understanding electrical plans in relation to large electrical systems; PV systems understanding preferred- Provide input to internal teams on all financial matters affected by these estimates- Assist in developing the schedule on which the estimate is built - Assist in compiling a list of relevant and capable trades to use for budgeting or project work- Coordinate with internal Engineering Department regarding electrical components for all types of PV solar system construction- Request input from the project team as needed- Bachelor?s and/or post-secondary education with a diploma or degree related to Engineering, Construction Management, and/or Estimating- Specific Knowledge of NEC 690 code requirements and associated equipment applications and costs preferred but not required- Effective oral and written correspondence abilities- Establish and maintain great communication channels with Engineering and Development departments and Project Management personnel in order to more accurately estimate costs by project type and region- Produce quantity take-offs for all areas of the estimate as directed by the individual responsible- Must be able to estimate all electrical components associated with both DC Solar and A-C Distribution - Working understanding of estimating software such as ?On Screen Takeoff?To apply please either
