It's an exciting time to join!The Role:They are looking for their first Full Stack Engineer to join their small but quickly-growing team to help disrupt the banking and loan industry. Their team is mission-driven, already making revenue, and moving fast. They're trying to help the economy, create real jobs, and offer a good service at the same time, and they need your help!Here are some of the challenges you'll help solve:Building and expanding their distributed service-oriented architectureScaling their business analytics and data collection capabilitiesProcessing high throughput transactionsThey are building a framework for collecting big data now, which will be on the order of terabytes, and they will undoubtedly encounter lots of challenges as they scale!As they grow, they'll also want your help in building the team and guiding where the culture goes.The Stack:Ruby + Mongo DB + Coffescript/JavaScript for now. They will be transitioning to more MVC-type frameworks for the front end. For the back end, the emphasis is more on Ruby rather than Rails. They are always open to considering and re-considering their technologies because they like to use the best available tool for any task.The Ideal Candidate Has:At least 1 professional project in Ruby (that's probably 1+ year but it doesn't have to be Rails)4-5 years or more of overall engineering experience - the ideal background would be a focus on languages like C, C++, Java, or Python, but they're open to any flavor!Some sort of operations experience/knowledge; you should be comfortable in a Unix/Linux environment, and they'd love to see familiarity with Chef, Puppet, or experience with distributed systems, Cassandra, and any other skills that will help as they scale.Bonus Points For:Github or other open source codeDatabase experienceDistributed systems experienceExperience operating at scale with low-latency systemsWhy Join?They offer all of the stuff that folks tend to find important, like a competitive salary, equity, fully-covered health benefits and the like.
